Plaid button down shirt - Chaps

Teal striped boatneck - Rafaella

My last 2 fashion hauls make it seem like i always buy a whole lot, but i will admit that they were both good trips. Sometimes thrifting leaves you empty handed and sometimes you find some great treasure, but you just never know. I plan to go thrifting later today, and hopefully it'll be another good trip

And for those of you wondering...if there's even anybody reading this...that haul probably cost around 35-40$...don't remember exactly.

That's it for this week's haul...next up weekly OOTD post.

So here' s how I styled them:

P.S: I went shopping yesterday, and actually bought a tripod for my camera in hopes that I wouldn't need to do mirror pics anymore, but got home to find it was broken, so I need to exchange it.

Spanx raspberry tights - Spanx online

Orange Mission

So today, i had a mission. I have this orange cardigan that I love but never wore because I couldn't figure out how to wear it. I knew black would make me look like a Halloween reject, so tried gray...I think it was a success. I got a lot of compliments on it too :-)

What I wore:

Orange cardigan - Red (Thrifted)
Grey skirt - Sag Harbor (Thrifted) (has some yellow and fuchsia stitches that aren't showing through the pic)

Thrift Store Haul

I didn't date this thrift store haul simply because it's my first one and i decided to put a few items I found in the last few weeks. I will be posting another one soon of what i found today.

Old Navy sweater dress (worn 01/07)

Eddie Bauer long sleeve tee

Care n Sport Black/white checkered lined blazer

Mecca brown casual tee

Mine Purple Shrug (Color didn't really come true in photo)

Old Navy purple layering tank

Mossimo Navy v-neck

OC by Oleg Cassini dress (this dress is so much better on, and i can't wait to show it, only it'll probably have to wait until summer. Definitely the best find in a while)

Friday night Outfit

I went out clubbing Friday night with some of my friends and this is the outfit I wore. I didn't want to dress like everyone else, and i didn't want to show too much skin, so decided to do the sweater vest. Please note that I don't go out that often but when I do I am almost never wearing pants. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I was wearing dresses and skirts to the club before everyone started doing it :P I'm from a small town and people do not usually dress up that much to go out, although lately it does seem to have picked up a bit, but then again every girl seems to be wearing the same thing...skintight black dresses with sequins or long tops meant to be worn with leggings as dresses...

What I wore:

Wine sweater dress - Old navy (thrifted)
Denim print leggings - (borrowed from friend)
Brown boots - Urban Planet
Brown Belt - Nygard (borrowed)
Gold hoop earrings
Gold necklace

OOTD 01/06/2011

Sorry about the quality of the photos...I'm still trying to figure out everything :-)

Another day at work. Thought I'd mention that my place of work doesn't have a dress code, except common sense (ie: no beachwear or pyjamas) Some people dress business, and some prefer the jeans and t-shirt look. I try to be a little bit less casual, but I don't always succeed in making it work. I'm still new at this.

What I wore:
Wooden necklace - not sure where it's from
Rose Ring - Silpada
Black long sleeve shirt - Ricky's (discovered a hole in the sleeve so this was probably it's last hoorah)
Belted sweater vest - Old Navy
Black denim jeans - Style & Co from Macys (another buy from my US visit)
Brown western Boots - Urban Planet

Will try to post my thrift store haul tomorrow...clothes are currently drying...

Hello

So, I have been reading a lot of fatshion blogs lately trying to get ideas on how to improve my style. While looking through all these different blogs, i figured I might as well start one of my own and try to get involved in this fabulous online community.

I will try to post some OOTD, but be warned that I only work 3 days a week (12 hour shifts) and my days off are usually spent in pjs or sweats unless i have plans to go out somewhere. Therefore this will probably not be a daily thing :P

Also, I am addicted to thrift stores. Well one in particular called Frenchys (I believe they are only located in Atlantic Canada). The reason for my love of these stores is that they have a plus size section and only carry merchandise from the States. This is great news for me since most brands I see in all the blogs on here are not available in Canada, or even online since they don't ship internationally or if they do,the shipping is astronomical (speaking to you Torrid!!!).

Also, it is like a treasure hunt every time I go. Basically the store has bins and not racks so digging must be done and because of this, a patient person can find good stuff hidden underneath other clothes...there are 2 plus size bins at my favorite frenchys, and i always go through every single item and try on all kinds of clothes without regard to sizes as each brand is different.

Wow, that was a long spiel...sorry!!

So this being said, i usually go to thrifting once a week (Monday or Tuesday depending on my schedule). I don't like going on weekends since it's too packed. Also i find the selection is better during the week. I will try to post haul posts once a week. Let the games begin :)
