TGIF!!

This was one of the slowest moving day ever, but at least i loved my outfit. The theme was mixing purple and orange. The purple did not come out perfectly in photos cause it was too dark when i took the photo, but it comes through a little :-)

This is actually Friday's theme, but I decided to steal it for Thursday since I am not working today (Friday).

This is probably my most casual look so far, but did fit the theme...Go casual with a wrap/cardi. (Again, still based on outfit inspiration calendars on fabfindsunder50.com)

And yes, my cat decided to sneak into the photo :p

I apologize for the graininess of the photo today. I took it in my kitchen for a change and the light from the window next to me affected the picture.

The theme today was floral, pink and purple. I wish I owned a dress that fit these criterias, but since i didn't, I had to get creative.

I'm late in posting these photos because i was not feeling well this week, but better late than never :-)
The theme of the day was wearing bright pants and color blocking. The capris are actually a brighter purple than the photo shows, and i liked it pair with blue. I did cheat bu wearing capris instead of pants, but it's a small detail :p

Another work week...another week's worth of outfit posts

I had a little bit of trouble accomplishing my goal of following the outfit inspiration calendar on fabfindsunder50.com, but managed to rummage through my closet and come up with something.

Today's theme was Add lace to lots of colors. The inspiration was wearing a white lace blazer that i wish i had in my closet, but alas. So i looked and found this lace skirt that i've never worn...it's actually longer than it appears but i wore it high on the waist. This top is also from the back of my closet. I don't own a lot of colorful prints but thought this would work.

Not the most flattering pic, but I did not have the patience to take multiple pics...

So today's theme...Cropped jeans under a dress...now i will admit this is not something I would wear normally and i have tried it before and it always looked weird, but I think it was pretty good this time

The dress is shorter than i like for going bare-legged so it's perfect for wearing over jeans, and i picked my tightest pairs of skinny jeans as they almost look like leggings. This dress is one i thrifted last summer and it was originally a mumu but i liked the colors, so asked my mom to alter it. It's awesome having a mom who's a seamstress. She shortened the hem, and also modifed the fit :-)

I believe I am finally getting the hang of taking full length pictures of myself :-)

So today's theme...Pairing an army jacket with Stripes. I believe thrifted these 2 pieces just last week so it was like the theme was meant to be.

I did cheat a little however as this is actually Friday's theme but seeing as I'm not working Friday, I thought I'd swap it for today.

Forgot to post this last Friday. The theme was mixed polka dots. The inspiration was actually wearing a mix of blue and yellow that i also loved but alas, i don't own colored polka dots so had to go with black and white. Again outfit ideas are based on fabfindsunder50.com insperation calendars.

Color Blocking 26/05/2011

Today's theme was color blocking. I love colors and i'm not a big fan of wearing a lot of black, although i do keep buying black shirts...but I'm not used to putting bold colors together. Here is one of my first try at color blocking. Also, please note that the top is in fact coral, but for some reason it shows up orange in pictures.

I have been inspired to start posting photos of my outfits again. I have recently discovered the following website:

Sometimes thrifting leaves you empty handed and sometimes you find some great treasure, but you just never know. I plan to go thrifting later today, and hopefully it'll be another good trip

And for those of you wondering...if there's even anybody reading this...that haul probably cost around 35-40$...don't remember exactly.

Fuchsia Madness

I was so excited to get dressed this morning, because I finally got the Spanx tights I had ordered a couple weeks ago...I got them in 3 colors, and today I was wearing the fuchsia ones, or raspberry according to spanx :P

Sixties Groove

Today, i decided to go for a retro vibe. At least it feels retro to me...this skirt just scream sixties to me but I could just be crazy :p It used to be longer, but i asked my mom to shorten it. Also please excuse the hair, but i just came in from a snowstorm :)

Orange Mission

So today, i had a mission. I have this orange cardigan that I love but never wore because I couldn't figure out how to wear it. I knew black would make me look like a Halloween reject, so tried gray...I think it was a success. I got a lot of compliments on it too :-)

Friday night Outfit

I went out clubbing Friday night with some of my friends and this is the outfit I wore. I didn't want to dress like everyone else, and i didn't want to show too much skin, so decided to do the sweater vest. Please note that I don't go out that often but when I do I am almost never wearing pants. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I was wearing dresses and skirts to the club before everyone started doing it :P I'm from a small town and people do not usually dress up that much to go out, although lately it does seem to have picked up a bit, but then again every girl seems to be wearing the same thing...skintight black dresses with sequins or long tops meant to be worn with leggings as dresses...

Another day at work. Thought I'd mention that my place of work doesn't have a dress code, except common sense (ie: no beachwear or pyjamas) Some people dress business, and some prefer the jeans and t-shirt look. I try to be a little bit less casual, but I don't always succeed in making it work. I'm still new at this.
